This is a story about the battle of Gettysburg as viewed from twain sides. The book only clears account of the time period from June 29 through July 3,1863. Although the book was on the actual battle at Gettysburg, it goes into the pros and cons of the attack by both sides. It also reveals the thoughts and feelings of the officers and ground military man about why they were there. The most prominent person, was ordinary Robert E Lee, commander of northern Virginia. habitual Lee was a conversion military leader. He was a top West read/write head graduate, who served 32 years in the Union phalanx. During this time he served with Ullysis S Grant in the Mexican-American War. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln, invited global Lee to become commander of the entire Union Army. universal Robert E Lee opposed secession, but his love for his family and the demesne of Virginia, made his decision to join the Confederate Army. He believed the oppose had c ome and he was a member of the Army that would ricochet against his home and his sons. He was not only to serve in it but actually lead it, make the plans, and issue the orders to kill, father and ruin his beloved Virginia. habitual Lee could not sack his hand against his own.
