Platos death displace Aristotle to a city in Asia Minor, calledAssos, where his friend, Hermias was ruler(Encarta). It wasin Assos where Aristotle met, Pythias, who is described as both a niece or daughter of Hermias, who Aristotle marriedafter the murder of Hermias, by the Persians. Aristotle thenwent to Pella, the capitol of Macedonia, where he became thetutor for the kings son, black lovage, who later becameAlexander the Great. When Alexander became King, Aristotlewent to Athens where he began to spoken communication at the Lyceum. Helectured while walking about in one of its covered walkways,earning him the nickname Aristotelian, which means walkingabout. Aristotle lectured and directed the Lyceum for twelveyears, producing during this time the lecture notes whichnow form his works. Only a small amount of Aristotles workshave survived. The writings which did survive likeMetaphysics,. which were his writings on the nature,scope, and properties of being and Physics, his writingson astronomy, meteorology, plants, and animals, thesewritings have changed the way we think and live. Aristotles works encompassed all the major areas ofthought logic, science, metaphysics, morals, and politics.He develop a new, non-Platonic theory of form, created asystem of deductive reasoning for cosmopolitan and existentialstatements, produced a theory of the cosmos, matter, life,and mind, and theorized about the relationship betweenethics and politics and the nature of the good life(YoungStudents Encyclopedia). His system rival Platos for the neighboring 2000 years.Aristotle was a firm believer that doctrine came fromwonder, and that knowledge came from experience. He had awealth of knowledge, from many experience if he was correctabout philosophy coming from wonder, he would have had towonder quite a bit. Aristotle was a genius, this is evidentin his writings, because the ideas and concepts he proposedin his writing were ahead of his time.
